Brandon Santini

When he was 15 years old, this North Carolina native bought a harmonica after asking his mom to take him to a music store, and, as they say, the rest is history. Several years ago Brandon Santini moved his music game to Memphis, adding the North Mississippi and Delta-blues feel to his Piedmont style. After founding the band Delta Highway in 2003 and receiving a nomination for a Blues Foundation Music Award, he embarked on a solo career that has climbed steadily since. His classic harmonica-blues style and singing, sometimes described as akin to old-school harp players Paul Butterfield and James Cotton, makes for an exciting and enticing sound. He’s built a solid touring schedule, released three albums on the VizzTone label group and comes on as one of the strongest of a group of younger blues performers keeping the flame of classic blues alive and well in the heartland. Santini will also be at The Alamo for the Illinois Central Blues Club Blue Monday series on June 13.
