The Cell Phones

Rolling in from Chicagoland to promote their sophomore release, No, out this fall on No Trend Records, this “extreme pop power” trio stakes claim to playing “aggressive rock and roll with a precision and intensity not often heard outside of the metal genre” and makes good on said claim. On a Midwest run through Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Ohio and Kentucky in a matter of a few weeks, Lindsey Charles (vocals), Justin Purcell (drums) and Ryan Szeszycki (bass) pack a powerful punch of live beats, bass melody and extraordinary singing without a six-string guitar in sight. Using the solid rhythm section of Justin and Ryan, musical partners and friends since middle school, along with the masterful and classic growling, singing and emoting voice of Lindsey, the three play loud and proud. Touting good press from the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Reader along with a ton of praise from blogs, zines, clubs and fans, TCP aren’t just calling to you, they’re creating a whirlwind wunderkind knocking out power-pop-punk pieces all across everywhere they roam.
