Hipbone Sam Band

Hipbone Sam Band

After nearly eight years of playing and racking up almost 1,000 shows, the Hipbone Sam Band is ceasing their seemingly ceaseless touring schedule with a final performance on New Year’s Day. During their tenure, the Hipbone Sam Band consisted of the “Let Me Hear Ya Say Yeah” dude himself, Kevin Hawkins (acoustic guitar, lead vocals), Rick Mari (lead guitar, keys, vocals), Mark Riefler (bass, vocals) and Rob Ross (drums, vocals) with Zack Fedor (guitar, harmonica, vocals) for the last year and Hawkeye Kane (harmonica, vocals) for several years before that. A consistent winner of our Illinois Times’ “Best of Springfield” poll, the band was always solidly booked through the years throughout the region. Not only a classic rock cover band, the guys also did good blues as well as originals (available worldwide on AMI digital jukeboxes) and was “that band with the bongos played by the crowd” as part of the ever present, active audience participation. All the band members are already in other combos, and Hipbone intends to pursue songwriting and life as an independent musician entrenched in the local scene, on his own time. They would like to thank fans, friends and family for years of fun.
