43 years of Clara and her Nutcracker

Don’t miss The Nutcracker, the timeless, holiday ballet performed annually by the Springfield Ballet

Company. The Nutcracker features a cast of more than 120 SBC dancers, local adult actors, young dancers from the community and professional guest artists. It tells the tale of Clara and her Nutcracker, who journey from a lavish Christmas party to a battle with the evil Mouse King, through the enchanting Land of Snow, and to the Kingdom of Sweets. According to Julie Ratz, the SBC’s artistic director, The Nutcracker is “the perfect introduction to ballet and the performing arts – combining culture, fantasy, magic and holiday tradition set to a recognizable and delightful score.” Tickets to The Nutcracker cost $33 in advance for adults and $21 for ages 12 and under. Day-of admission costs $38 for adults and $26 for ages 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at http://sangamonauditorium.org or by phone at 206-6160.
