Logistics of war

Enjoy a special mid-week Civil War Tech event on Wednesday, April 4, in celebration of many area schools being on spring break. Civil War Tech events provide hands-on activities for children ages 8-12 to explore the intersection between history and technology. April’s Civil War Tech event, titled “The Logistics of War,” will teach kids how troops, ammunition and supplies were moved from point A to point B; how Civil War armies crossed rivers and swamps; and how to build and test pontoon bridges and other bridges for sturdiness. This event is free to the public, and reservations can be made online at http://PresidentLincoln.illinois.gov.
