Fresh flowers and family farms

Tour a family farm near Rochester and enjoy a hands-on lesson on flower arranging during this installment of the “Women Who Farm Field Day” series, brought to you by The Land Connection. This event will be led by Violet Veenstra, a former high-school teacher turned full-time farmer. Violet manages the flower side of her family’s business, Harvest and Blooms Farm, and will be leading a farm tour and sharing her favorite tips and tricks for producing and arranging cut flowers. The “Flower Farming Field Day” costs $15 to attend, and the price of admission includes the farm tour, a hands-on cut flower activity and fresh, local refreshments. Registration can be completed online at http://thelandconnection.org/WWF2018. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own vase or Mason jar for the flower-arranging portion of the event.
