19th Annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theater

The Friends of the Chatham Area Public Library was founded in 1986 and is a volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds to supplement the library’s annual budget for materials and programs and supporting literacy initiatives in the Chatham community. Along with other activities, the group sponsors the teen and adult summer reading programs, provides computers and equipment for the library and makes available volunteers to help with various library functions. The Friends held their first murder mystery dinner theater fundraiser in 2000.  This year’s play, Inhumane Resources: Death by Hiring Squad, was written by Ryan Byers, who has been writing original whodunits for the annual event since 2010.  The play’s actors are staff members, library trustees, Friends members and Chatham residents.  The play is not interactive, but the audience members do get to guess who the culprit is to win prizes.
