Famous film and TV actor Anthony Zerbe, of The Omega Man, Papillon, The Matrix series and Star Trek Insurrection, juxtaposes and mixes the extraordinary poetry of E.E. Cummings with his own theatrical expertise into an enthralling dramatic imagery-fest. The one-man performance is part of Zerbe’s Three Days of Theatre residency, where he also talks to and works one-on-one with students. This Poetry in Motion program is brought to town by UIS Visiting Artists Series and sponsored by 91.9 WUIS Public Radio. A free public lecture titled, “True Grit to True Grit,” is also planned for April 28, 7 p.m. in UIS Studio Theatre. Zerbe played opposite John Wayne and Katharine Hepburn in the 1975 True Grit sequel, Rooster Cogburn.
