remembering poem # 23

 remembering poem # 23

my daughter demi
knew how to take
small pleasures
small treats
when we drove to
wisconsin she always
stopped midway for
a bag of popcorn
when we swam at
lola and kevin’s
pool we stopped
on the way home
for ice cream cones
and licked them
while we sat on a
ledge swinging our
feet like little kids
