Celebrate 200 years of the Broadwell Inn and Tavern

For 200 years, the Broadwell Inn and Tavern have stood west of Springfield. Moses Broadwell, a Revolutionary War veteran, built the inn in 1824 and was its first proprietor. This year's Fall Festival – a local favorite – will recognize this key anniversary with some special events. According to organizers, Batterton and Edwards will provide music and Chris Camp, The Whip Guy, will perform. Various living history groups will be present and all of the site's buildings will be open for tours. This year's event reportedly will be attended by members of the Broadwell family, too. In addition, the Clydesdales will be back. The event includes food, craft vendors, children's activities and tours. Admission is free and donations are welcome.
