Fireworks, food, festivities on the Fourth

The Springfield Jaycees are proud to host their annual Capital City Celebration in beautiful downtown Springfield. Friday’s festivities start at 7 p.m., and feature craft vendors, beer, Pepsi products, plus food for purchase and live music by F5 from 8 p.m. until midnight in Fourth, Fifth and Capitol streets. Saturday’s fun begins at 4 p.m., and includes a pageant for children up to age 10, beer, Pepsi products and food for purchase and live music by Lick Creek. Additional activities can be found on Saturday at the intersection of Second and Capitol streets, such as even more craft and food vendors, free giant inflatables, other fun family activities, a Springfield Municipal Band performance at 6 p.m., and the grand finale fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. For more information about Capital City Celebration, visit http://springfieldjaycees.org or call 553-2082.
