Springfield Oyster and Beer Festival in 14th year

It's once again time for the Springfield Oyster and Beer Festival at the Inn at 835. The event, now in its 14th year, has raised more than $170,000 for local charities. Festival organizers will prepare thousands of oysters for the event. Now that's a lot of oyster shucking and char-grilling. The event will feature 150 varieties of beer and ciders from more than 60 brewers. Not into oysters? No problem. Food trucks will be on site. With two large tents, the event will go on rain or shine. The Red Ribbon Revue and the Aileana Rawlins Band will provide the music. Visit the website at sobfestival.com for $40 advance tickets or pay $45 at the gate. This year's charity recipient is the Legacy Theatre which provides an environment where creative exploration of the arts is embraced and nurtured in an atmosphere of support and respect.
