From an introduction through friends, Maria Brink (lead vocals, piano) and Chris Howorth (lead guitar, vocals) got together in August of 2005 and immediately formed a common bond of music through songwriting. After starting a band called Dying Star with drummer Jeff Fabb, they soon changed musical direction and In This Moment became a reality that quickly began to climb the slippery slope of the music industry. The group continued evolving musically, adding and growing with various members (current players include Travis Johnson on bass, Tom Hane on drums and Randy Weitzel on rhythm guitar) while making inroads onto the Billboard pop and rock charts with videos and studio recordings. Live performances included playing tours and festivals such as the Hottest Chicks in Metal (2007), Ozzfest (2007, 2008), Warped Tour (2008), Download (2009), Mayhem (2010), Music as a Weapon V (2011) and Uproar (2012). The latest studio release Blood, came from an entire rebuilding of the band in 2011, with Brink and Howorth still driving as the hard rocking, metal core of In This Moment.
