Why use RSS?

RSS is an easy way to review updates from your favorite Web sites without visiting each one. With an RSS reader, you subscribe to a feed and scan the headlines. When you find something that interests you, click on the link to read the complete article.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is an XML-based format in which content from Web sites, including Illinois Times, is delivered to special RSS news readers. Illinois Times's RSS feeds contain headlines, summaries and links back to Illinois Times for the full article.

How do I get RSS feeds?

First, get an RSS reader. Then follow your RSS reader's instructions for adding a feed to your list. There are many RSS readers available, some of which are free. There are Web-based readers as well as those that you download and install on your computer. Examples of free RSS readers:
