In 2010, WFMT-Chicago named Ben Bedford one of the "50 most significant folk singer-songwriters of the past 50 years." Joining him on that list were Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt and Joni Mitchell – so, it is no small honor. Since releasing his first album more than 15 years ago, Bedford has gained worldwide attention with performances across the U.S., plus in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Brussels, Belgium and Canada. In the meantime, he also released five more studio albums that hit the high notes on the Euro Americana and Folk-DJ charts, and "his music has been played on National Public Radio's Car Talk and featured in The Sounding Board, the official newsletter of the renowned C.F. Martin Guitar Company." On Sunday, June 16, you can catch Bedford on stage at the Positively Summer Music Festival. He'll be joining other local talent with some solid sounds – Buckhart Road, Chickadee Sermon and Positively 4th Street, a band formed by Tom Beverly and Geoff Ryan, two of the festival's key organizers.
