This talented and inspiring performer on acoustic guitar and vocals brings an exuberant quality to his solo shows that is uplifting and outstanding, winding his way through a substantial list of songs, all played with good taste and fine abilities. Jason McKenzie does songs in a range unlike any other local player, going from Black Crowes to Modern English, Van Morrison to Stealers Wheel, Jason Isbell to John Denver, Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Tom Petty, and that could be just all in one set. During the early pandemic lockdown time, Jason showed his true colors and did several Facebook Live streams to benefit hometown bar venues, giving back to the community as a good artist should. JaMc stays pretty busy with his diverse and expansive repertoire leading the way, playing the smaller towns such as Bullpit, Carlinville, Pawnee, Rochester, Athens, Chatham and Divernon as well as venturing into the big city to bring his music to the urban masses. When you see him, be sure to ask for a song, since the odds are he will know it somehow and play it well, too.
